Based on these nine lessons and based on the many empirical insights presented throughout the thesis, a nuanced picture about citizens’ perceptions of electoral integrity in Germany emerges. In sum, the picture is quite reassuring at least when looking at the value distributions of the ten indices of electoral integrity in the CPEIG sample. The ten dimensions of electoral integrity are very positively evaluated by the citizens interviewed in the survey. The most reassuring finding being that across sociodemographic groups and partisanship, Dimension 6 on voting operations was overwhelmingly positively evaluated. Even the right-wing populist party supporters in the sample expressed confidence in this dimension of electoral integrity. So, at least based on the CPEIG sample, citizens’ views about electoral integrity in Germany can in general be considered quite positive.
