In our paper, we take stock of the metaphors that address gender-specific discrimination in management literature. We explore the messages often conveyed by metaphors such as the ‘Glass Ceiling’ and the contribution these rhetorical images make to breaking down gender-discriminatory practices. We highlight the resulting boundaries and possibilities for change through these metaphors.
