The focus group analysis reveals that journalists in practice, education, and training hardly engage with cultural diversity. When such engagement does occur, it is primarily based on an essentialist understanding of culture. Although there are country-specific differences in reporting on people with a migration background (Africa versus Asia), overall, a homogenization and negativity can be observed. It is encouraging that most of the journalists surveyed show great interest in education and training opportunities in the field of diversity.
