What contribution can an examination of society’s relationship with animals from a theoretical perspective make to promoting socio-political maturity that prepares individuals for societal challenges? This question is addressed in this chapter on normative goal clarification as a research task within the model of political didactics reconstruction, thereby establishing the normative claim for the subsequent political didactic structuring of the human–animal relationship.
