Physics changes unexpectedly and drastically in the 20th century. We present fundamental ideas from the theory of relativity and quantum theory along with some philosophical implications. Classical materialism disappears. Furthermore, we show some concrete modern physics concepts that also help “to understand” beyond physics. Examples include the Ising model, fractals, and entropy.
