Fundamentally, it is necessary to establish parity and equality between the three components within the bio-psycho-social model. This demand applies equally to all actors in the addiction aid system. In particular, social workers and social educators must be able to carry out their social tasks on an equal footing and at eye level with the other involved professions in the network of addiction aid and treatment. Among the most pressing and overdue tasks is to reactivate and intensify the addiction-related social science basic research.
