The foundations here in Chap. 2 build the conceptional basis for the research in this thesis. First, innovation co-creation is explained as a form of open innovation that focuses on the creation of new ideas for solutions. The selection of suitable co-creators and their characteristics is therefore relevant, as is the way in which they are empowered.
