This chapter presents the research findings and reflects on the broader empirical as well as theoretical implications of this study. Empirically, the main finding of the book is that the inherent inconsistencies in the EU migration-development nexus exist due to the presence of two, highly different groups of actors: EU development policy actors and EU migration policy actors. The chapter also shows that, while causing inconsistencies, both groups of actors benefit from this setup. Theoretically, the chaper documents the added value of the advocacy coalition framework for stuying EU policy-making.
