The objective of this thesis was to investigate the potential of TS as a solution to enhance efficiency in road freight transport, addressing challenges such as growing freight volumes, infrastructure constraints, low profit margins, and truck driver shortages in Europe. Aims included elaborating on the concept of TS, identifying practical use cases, and examining the drivers of, and barriers to, TS implementation. Through an exploratory mixed-method design involving qualitative interviews and surveys, both theoretical insights and practical recommendations were provided to support adoption of TS in the logistics industry.
