Over-Engineering: Antecedents and Intervention Strategies
摘要
Building on the theoretical foundation, the fourth chapter focuses on the relevance of over-engineering and its organizational antecedents. Four key organizational factors were identified as drivers of over-engineering, namely psychological unsafe innovation environments, high organizational differentiation, technology-centered (core) competencies, and a strong exploitation focus. Based on these insights, the action research project derives specific intervention strategies. The chapter concludes with recommendations for fostering frugal engineering in the organization.
