Fuel cell systems are one of the key technologies for future sustainable energy storage and energy transfer. Most of the fuel cell applications are battery-hybrid systems, where the fuel cell itself needs to be operated in a “steady-state” working point. Which means at an optimal voltage and current point. On one side, it is important to operate the fuel cell in this steady state; on the other side, the highly dynamic operation of the overall system must be ensured. These hybrid “FC-Battery”-systems are applied in various applications with different boundary conditions. In this presentation we are giving insights into the development of our 6th generation DC/DC-converter which was developed to cover most FC-applications with just one technology platform.
