The NFT-art (Non-Fungible Tokens) boom in 2021 sparked my interest in blockchain technologies, as it did for many. At the same time, I became aware of growing debates around digital ownership, control, and the unequal power distribution in online spaces. These concerns, along with the excitement surrounding new forms of collective engagement, motivated me to explore blockchain technologies more closely. To deepen my understanding, I started to engage in blockchain communities, attending meetups, conferences, and following blockchain enthusiasts on social media. Twitter quickly stood out as a preferred medium of communication and knowledge-sharing for those active in Web3.
