At the beginning of the 21st century, various transformation processes and needs can be identified, which cause change at all levels of society. Examples include digitization, socio-ecological structural change, questions of social justice and distribution of goods, demographic developments, and the design of welfare statehood, as well as the political and socio-economic task of managing the consequences of the pandemic.
