“Who needs cross-cultural management research? We are an engineering company! We are technical engineers, and globally, we are all the same!”, exclaimed a former top manager of a global project-based organization (PBO), as he raised his arms while jumping up from his chair. As a tall man standing, his words sounded even more imposing and somewhat persuasive. Big, impressive pictures of popular landmarks, including the London Tower Bridge, the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, and the Panama Canal, adorned the wall behind him (Fieldnotes, February 2015).
