A sociology of practice is compelled to centralize the concept of the event. For it views practice as something that occurs and thereby gains its own quality. In addition to this event paradigm, which will be discussed in many facets in the following, there is another important basic insight of sociological practice theories: events are moments in time that do not arise without preconditions.
