This chapter deals with the methodological basics  of physical education. Starting from considerations for understanding and systematizing methods in sports, methodological measures, methodological exercise series, and methodological procedures are presented as the basis of an object-oriented methodology. In contrast, the subject-oriented methodology emphasizes the educational claim of physical education and resorts to methodological types of staging. In the sense of an integrative view, the methodological spectrum in physical education is finally clarified. The chapter is supplemented by an excursion into movement tasks in physical education.
