The article discusses the question of how intercultural data can be interpreted in social science. The thesis is developed that the interpretation of intercultural data does not fundamentally differ from the interpretation of intracultural data, but only to a certain degree. However, it is useful to involve culturally familiar co-interpreters in the interpretation of intercultural data. Furthermore, it is explained that hermeneutics, with its premise of unity of culture between the subjects and the researchers, has also come under pressure in the interpretation of intracultural data.

摘要

The article discusses the question of how intercultural data can be interpreted in social science. The thesis is developed that the interpretation of intercultural data does not fundamentally differ from the interpretation of intracultural data, but only to a certain degree. However, it is useful to involve culturally familiar co-interpreters in the interpretation of intercultural data.
