Diversity Management as ‘Travelling concept’. Principal Considerations for Studying the Translation of Diversity Management from the Perspective of Reflexive Diversity Research
摘要
This article presents fundamental considerations for the comparative study of transformation processes in the explicit handling of diversity in the form of diversity management (DiM). From the perspective of reflexive diversity research, methodological precautions are identified. It is neither assumed—as in the World-Polity approach—that there is an incremental harmonization of dealing with diversity in the form of a ‘typical’ DiM, nor is it assumed—as in the Multiple Modernities approach—that local forms of DiM necessarily follow certain local path dependencies. Rather, a methodological heuristic, indeed essentially a program for exploring the interplay between global and local processes in the diffusion and thus transformation using the example of DiM in companies is developed.
