In the previous chapter, the conceptual foundations of this dissertation have been presented. In this context, a conceptual overview has been given, and it has been explained why a cross-national comparison using Germany and China as examples is appropriate. In addition, initial relevant research opportunities have been identified from this general review of the research area.
