The quota and number of approved residential and non-residential wooden buildings in Germany have been continuously increasing in recent years (Holzbau Deutschland 2022). This development reflects the growing demand for resource-saving wooden Structures or Buildings. However, an increase in purchase agreements poses a challenge for many companies. The use of automation is indespensable in order to flexibly expand production capacites independently of personnel deployment. This paper deals with the core processes of prefabrication in timber construction and provides an overview of possible automation and digitization solutions.
