Recent developments in the history of economic thought show an increased focus on different topics: Joseph Stiglitz, an American economist and recipient of the Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, among other things, criticizes the misdevelopments of globalization and the growing inequality. Amartya Sen, also a recipient of this prize, and other economists listed subsequently advocate for a more humane economy that places greater emphasis on the concept of solidarity. Finally, American economists Daniel Kahneman and Richard Thaler introduce the idea of a more realistic human image with behavioral economics, supplemented by psychological components.
