The preparations and fundamental research work for this book date back to the spring of 2022. At that time, there were three technology areas whose development was largely advanced independently of each other: Web3, Metaverse, and AI. While these areas were advanced in peaceful coexistence with sometimes larger, sometimes smaller overlaps at seemingly steady speeds, this changed abruptly in October/November 2022. Since this connection has the potential to significantly influence the future development of the Metaverse, this topic will be briefly discussed within the framework of this work.
