Control Elements for Driver Assistance Systems
摘要
This chapter describes how controls for driver assistance systems are ergonomically designed. Since driver assistance systems are safety-relevant vehicle functions, distraction-free and intuitive operability is of utmost importance. The first step describes the characteristics of driver assistance systems that must be considered when designing the controls. Subsequently, hints are given for the selection of control elements, the spatial arrangement in the vehicle interior, as well as for the haptics and the operating directions. In the last step, current and future-oriented solutions for the controls of driver assistance systems are presented and described in terms of their advantages and disadvantages.
