Troitskyi, Vlad
摘要
The entry considers the Shakespeare-related creative activity of Vlad Troitskyi (b. 1964), a celebrated Ukrainian actor and director who has created a range of remarkable productions of Shakespeare’ tragedies, including A Prologue to Macbeth (2004), A Prologue to Richard III (2005), A Prologue to King Lear (2006) (all three united in the trilogy Mystical Ukraine), Hamlet (2006), and Coriolanus (2014) staged as “new opera.” Troitskyi’s method embraces elements of ritualism, avant-garde theatrical practices, and his own concept of neobaroque aesthetics.
