A naturally occurring, biodegradable polymeric substance, Chitosan (CS) is mostly derived from seafood waste. CS-derived materials have drawn a plenty of preference in the realm of biomedical uses with its unique antibacterial, non-toxic, biocompatible, and environmentally friendly qualities. The reason of reactivity of CS is due to presence of amino group and hydroxyl groups, which highlights its potential applications in biosensors, tissue engineering, antimicrobial dressing for wounds, bioimaging, drug delivery and as an implant’s material. The biomedical use of Eco-materials based on CS is covered in this chapter.

摘要
