This entry discusses the use of urban agriculture in addressing food security. The urbanization driving the need for this nature-based food sourcing is presented. Conceptualization and theoretical perspectives regarding urban agriculture are included. Brief highlights are shown of instances of urban agriculture around the globe. Challenges and considerations are also presented.
