Making sense of data requires interpretable and explainable methods. This paper discusses perspectives on computational sensemaking on complex data towards integrative human-aware evaluation. In particular, we highlight several directions on integrative human-aware modeling and evaluation of interpretability methods. These can enable more trustworthy applications, thus providing a first step towards human-aware explainable AI (XAI) evaluation in the domain of complex data.

Making sense of data requires interpretable and explainable methods. This paper discusses perspectives on computational sensemaking on complex data towards integrative human-aware evaluation. In particular, we highlight several directions on integrative human-aware modeling and evaluation of interpretability methods.
