In the field of mindfulness-based techniques there has been a sharp increase in interest in examining novel technology to improve the effectiveness of mental health interventions in the recent past many years. Immersive virtual environments (IVEs) are one of these technologies that has shown promise in enhancing conventional mindfulness techniques and providing fresh approaches to enhancing mental health and wellbeing. The potential of immersive virtual environments in mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) to handle typical obstacles to mindfulness practise, such as discomfort, lack of desire, and distractions, is a significant perceivable advantage. The immersive nature of virtual-environments will arouse deep-involvement, facilitating people to form deeper connections with their ‘inner selves’ and ‘emotional-states’. This review-based study looks at how mindfulness-based treatments (MBIs) for stress reduction and mental health promotion can incorporate immersive virtual environments (IVEs). The paper investigates how virtual-reality based technologies can improve effectiveness of MBIs, through research and analysis, providing deep-insights into mindfulness-practices in the virtual-environments.

摘要
