This study tries to understand the value system of Generation Z students in higher education institutes in Mumbai. It is observed that these values change frequently and hence, this study focuses on how their personal and organizational values can be made more sustainable. We have studied four main types of values namely family, societal, civic, and work ethics. We collected data from 503 students from three age groups and the questions were based on Likert scale. It was found that a lot of emphasis was given to maintaining family relations but the way in which women and children were treated required lot of attention. Also, everyone acknowledged the importance of sustainability. People of Generation Z place a higher value on challenging and demanding jobs, freedom in their work, a balance between health and work, and follow practices that are beneficial to the environment in their day-to-day activities. This study gives lot of importance to sustainability and how it affects the behaviour of Gen Z. Hence, this study has a lot of practical implications for the workplace and the society as a whole.
