CBDC and the Future of E-Governance: Bridging Digital Public Infrastructure, Trust, and Financial Inclusion
摘要
Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), in recent years, has seen a dramatic change. Many countries worldwide are adopting it, some are in the pilot testing phase, some are in the launching phase, and some have already launched their digital currency. In this paper, a study was conducted to find the future of e-governance and how CBDC will affect e-governance. 117 responses were observed with the help of the regression analysis method to check the future of CBDC and e-governance. Findings suggest that trust, already used digital platforms, and education of citizens regarding digital services influence e-governance, while security, financial inclusion, and digital infrastructure have no impact on e-governance. CBDC can help the government by providing easy services on transparent platforms. Findings suggest that CBDC is not just a currency, it is the future of payments. But how people will adopt and use it will depend on how the government makes policy regarding it and how well people will trust it.
