In a dynamic environment where a leader has to be adaptive and receptive to change, the application of Emotional Intelligence can shape decisions, bring clarity in actions to be taken, steering followers in the right direction. EI training can establish a leader as someone who knows his people, what they are capable of, make them feel valued and guide them to accomplish any task efficiently. The leader gradually grows to learn and sense his emotional dispositions and also leave room to understand his followers’ emotions in a way which will conflate into a meaningful relationship in the work environment building trust and enhancing loyalty. Existing literature talks about the association between EI and leadership outcomes, although how EI competence could be equipped isn’t stressed upon. The paper has attempted to assess the key studies on the foundation of EI and effective leadership and outcomes and training EI for leaders. A clear gap was identified around the lack of clarity in what an effective EI training can look like, which the paper addresses briefly. On the basis of key ideas and arguments from literature, a soft training proposal is formulated which includes essential elements of an EI training framework, thereby making EI leadership a learnable and realistic goal. The current study places emphasis on the use of EI in organizations, where it will serve as a valuable tool in shaping leadership impact. Its simplistically designed structure could be applied in various work settings to test the effectiveness.
