Dental Management of Patients with Bleeding Disorders: General Considerations
摘要
Numerous complications can occur during dental procedures, with prolonged and excessive bleeding being one of the most common and clinically most significant. Intraoperative bleeding can negatively impact the success and outcome of the procedure. Postoperative bleeding can range from mild, self-limiting episodes that primarily cause patient concern to severe hemorrhagic events that threaten life. Postoperative bleeding may result from local causes, failure to follow postoperative instructions, underlying bleeding disorders, or the use of antithrombotic medications. Managing dental care for patients with impaired hemostasis requires a preventive and multidisciplinary approach focused on reducing the risk of bleeding complications. Careful preoperative assessment and planning, minimally traumatic surgical techniques, and the use of local hemostatic agents and measures are essential to achieve safe and effective outcomes.
