Blind Navigation Systems Using Monocular Depth Estimation

We often come across blind people having tough task traveling through a busy path. Person who cannot see always need someone to be there to take care of them or to watch over them. They are dependent on someone or the other. People are preoccupied with their own life and they hardly bother about someone else. Life of such blind people is very difficult. To help them in such a way that they won’t be dependent on anyone again is the need of the hour. So, the proposed system(idea/methodology) depicts the path on a busy street which will help blind people find the way on their own without being dependent on anyone else. There are many electronic gadgets which help blind people to travel safely, but they are not efficient enough, they are just for the obstacles lying around. The proposed system will thus aim to help the blind identify what type of obstacle it is, how far he/she is from the obstacle and help them to make their decision easy and simple without getting too close to the obstacles.
