This chapter provides some ingredients to support the advancement of women innovators. The thoughts and information in this chapter have been helpful to the author. You need to have “intellectual thick skin” and confidence in your innovation to move it forward. You need to allow yourself the freedom to think beyond what has been done previously and not look for “the right answer.” Don’t assume that small innovations are small. When possible, find and leverage support from other women innovators. Since many patents come from STEM fields, women in STEM disciplines should be enhanced and supported. Understand and accept that gender bias exists but do not let that stop you in your innovation pursuits. Don’t be afraid to stand firm and protect your ideas. Educate yourself and utilize resources to understand the intellectual property process. Enhance entrepreneurship and innovation in all disciplines. Understand the politics of innovation, which can be unrealized but notable. These thought processes and factors can work to enhance and advance women innovators.
