To mark the 40th anniversary of the ISS, this chapter outlines the origins and select findings of my evolutionary-structuralist research. In my quest for a contemporary interpretation of Schumpeter's theory of economic development, the research agenda has focused on the following topics in particular: entrepreneurial competition, venture finance and the non-neutrality of money, the inverted-U relationship between innovation and competition, technology adoption in green tech and platforms, structural change and growth and a typology of evolutionary economic policy. The findings demonstrate the relevance of many of Schumpeter's foundational insights to contemporary challenges of technological, economic and social transformation.

摘要
