Honneth and Positive “Immanent” Critique

Examining the theories of critique that emerged from philosophical collaboration at the Institute for Social Research under Axel HonnethHonneth’s direction, and treating them as responses to impulses from his work, reveals that they rest on a shared set of assumptions. The first and most evident is the self-referential character of the problem position: that of a (so-called critical) theory of critical theory.
