The Right to Know: Fertility Awareness and Bioethical Decision-Making
摘要
Addressing the crucial bioethical imperative of fertility awareness (FA) is essential for informed reproductive decision-making. Global studies consistently reveal significant knowledge gaps among university students regarding fertility, age-related decline, and assisted reproductive technologies. These deficits are compounded by cultural stigmas, overreliance on technology, and inadequate educational frameworks, as observed in diverse settings like the United States, Argentina, and Hong Kong. To bridge this knowledge gap in underexplored regions, a critical step involves the cross-cultural adaptation and validation of instruments like the Swedish Fertility Awareness Questionnaire (SFAQ). Such efforts are fundamental to empowering individuals with accurate information, fostering reproductive autonomy, and contributing to a more informed global discourse on reproductive health.
