Transitioning from Training to Private Practice
摘要
Moving from a training program to entering private practice can be stressful for any doctor. During your training program, you are in a cocoon or bubble, protected by staff and faculty. There are numerous factors to consider when transitioning to practice. Balancing your current workload as a resident or fellow, managing family responsibilities, and starting your new practice can often lead to mistakes and missed opportunities. This chapter will help make that transition seamless. This chapter contains a practical, easy-to-follow checklist that serves as a helpful reminder of all the tasks that need to be completed during the transition process. This chapter includes suggestions from several young physicians who entered private practice within the past 3 years. They will share what worked for them and what they would do if they had a chance to start over again.
