Telemedicine
摘要
Most doctors have practiced a simple form of telemedicine by taking phone calls from patients seeking medication refills. In these cases, physicians can either call the pharmacy to refill the medication or suggest patients make an office appointment to receive a new prescription. Physicians are not compensated for accommodating patient refills, yet they are legally responsible for their actions and advice. This situation does not make for good medicine. This chapter examines the utilization of telemedicine and outlines the steps for implementing a telemedicine program efficiently. The chapter will also discuss the proper coding for telemedicine visits.
