Introduction: Why Is Climate Change a Social Work Issue?
摘要
This chapter situates climate change as a central and unavoidable concern for contemporary social work practice. It focuses on the emotional weight that this can have on social workers as human beings as part of a globalized degeneration and discusses how social work can operate under times of duress. Highlighting the social injustices and variations in how climate change impacts affect individuals and groups, it demonstrates the disproportionate harm on certain groups while creating new groups of vulnerability. It links the idea of confronting inequality with ability to address climate change, and positions social workers as moral agents of care and action at this time.
