The article investigates the prospects for the development of the forestry sector. In particular, the paper presents a forecast of changes in the efficiency indicators of its key production areas. Product profitability was selected as the criterion for efficiency. Estimates have been obtained up to the year 2030. Forecasting was carried out using several methods, and the final assessment was computed by averaging the resulting forecasts. The results of the study reveal that, despite sectoral difficulties expected between 2025 and 2027, efficiency is projected to increase across almost all lines of activity in the subsequent period. Key factors influencing enterprises during the study period have also been identified. This stage of the research was conducted with the involvement of a wide group of experts. Among the factors examined, technological development of enterprises was determined to be the most important. It stands out as one of the few key factors that businesses can directly influence. A detailed assessment of the peculiarities of technological development in forestry enterprises showed that, in practice, it will manifest as increased process automation. Thus, the research determined that the most significant factor in the efficiency of the forestry sector in the near future will be the expansion of automation in forestry industry enterprises.

Integrating Automation and Forecasting in Forestry Sector Management
