Data protection issues in the automated production process control systems of enterprises and organizations are becoming more relevant as all spheres of society scale and fully immerse themselves in the online space. An increase in unauthorized access to the enterprise’s digital infrastructure, leakage of customers’ and users’ personal information, loss of valuable assets, disclosure of confidential information, and system destabilization create difficulties for the operation and modernization of production processes. The article reviews the volume of data accumulation processes in companies’ and enterprises’ storage and cloud services, draws conclusions about the intensity of information resource generation and accumulation, and lists some cybersecurity risks accompanying the informatization of society. Data protection is becoming a top priority for every company, as data breaches and leaks of personal information harm business reputation and the operation of automated systems, and can also be used by fraudsters for illegal purposes.
