Uncovering Routes to Psychological Ownership in Container Security
摘要
With the growing popularity of software containers, container security has become increasingly important. Security depends not only on technical measures but also on the people who work with containers. One critical issue is shared ownership and the lack of personal responsibility for security. In this study, we aim to understand the routes that lead to psychological ownership in the context of container security, as psychological ownership has been linked to increased feelings of responsibility. We analyzed 14 container security interviews through the lens of psychological ownership, identifying eight categories of actions and factors related to these routes, translating the theory into practice. Our study shows psychological ownership can be integrated to container security context, laying the groundwork of utilizing psychological ownership both in research and in practice in this field.
