Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction combined with electroacupuncture on diabetes peripheral neuropathy (DPN). Methods: 60 patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xingtai Medical College from January 2025 to August 2025 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment, while the treatment group received Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Tang combined with electroacupuncture treatment on the basis of the control group. Analyze the changes in the Toronto Clinical Scoring System (TCSS) scores, nerve conduction velocity, fasting blood glucose (FBG), and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) between two groups of patients, and compare the efficacy between the two groups. Result: After treatment, (TCSS) scores of both groups of patients were lower than before treatment (P < 0.05), and the TCSS scores of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV) and motor nerve conduction velocity (MCV) of both groups of patients were higher than before treatment (P < 0.05), and the SCV and MCV of the treatment group were higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, both groups of patients had lower FPG and HbA1c levels than before treatment (P < 0.05), and the FPG and HbA1c levels in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The total effective rate of the treatment group(97.1%) was significantly higher than that of the control group(77.2%). During the clinical study, all patients did not experience any adverse reactions. Conclusion: Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Tang combined with electroacupuncture has a definite therapeutic effect on DPN, with positive significance in regulating blood sugar, improving clinical symptoms and nerve conduction function of patients, and no significant serious adverse reactions. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
