This research seeks to investigate the impact of media education on the development of critical thinking skills in the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The study used a descriptive field technique, using meticulously crafted questionnaires administered to a sample of 360 people from varied educational and occupational backgrounds. The research focused on measuring media literacy, examining engagement with digital and conventional media, and assessing critical thinking abilities. The results indicated a favorable link between media literacy and critical thinking abilities. Approximately 75% of those with advanced media literacy exhibited elevated critical thinking skills, as contrast to just 45% of those with insufficient literacy. The research indicated that media education programs improve young people’s capacity to analyze media messages, recognize disinformation, and differentiate credible sources. Data revealed that individuals who underwent training via media education programs made substantial advancements in assessment and reasoning abilities, with 85% exhibiting enhanced capacity to differentiate between false and correct news. The research advocates for the incorporation of media education and critical thinking principles into school curriculum, as well as the creation of creative educational initiatives to enhance media awareness and enable youngsters to interact more effectively in social concerns.
