This present study investigates the impact of Artificial Intelligence applications in logistics for empowering women in Jordan’s supply chain and logistics industry. This research study has considered the five most important dimensions of logistics transportation, inventory management, demand forecasting, smart logistics, and control systems. The approach followed in this quantitative study is based on the responses provided by 174 respondents chosen from all levels of Jordan’s logistics sector, including operational staff, middle management, and executive management. This paper uses the Partial Least Squares variance-based structural equation model to test the hypothesis and present an all-rounded view of how AI applications influence women’s empowerment in the industry. These analyses indicated that logistics AI applications enhanced women’s participation and leadership roles in this industry. This has been facilitated through AI’s improvement in logistics operations, especially transportation, inventory management, and demand forecasting. In addition, smart logistics and control systems have further facilitated gender equality in this industry. The study suggests that logistics organizations should invest in AI technologies for increased efficiency of operations and women’s empowerment, besides encouraging gender equality policies through technological adoption and training programs in leadership skill development among women. Further research is warranted into sector-specific AI applications, comparative studies across sectors, and longitudinal research regarding the impact on the long-term status of women in the logistics industry.

摘要
