This paper discusses the internationalization strategies of multinational corporations in emerging markets (eMNC) when competing globally. Drawing on the OLI framework, eMNCs are willing to engage in early-stage investments and focus on niche markets when expanding in foreign countries. eMNCs strategy starts with mitigating the liability of foreignness and then followed by building their brands and presence in the new markets. Finally, eMNCs develop their R&D capabilities to launch innovative products and compete in the globally.
