Novel Bio-Based Fibre Board Based on Elephant Dung and Bone Glue
摘要
In this study the potential of bone glue and dried fibres of Asian, African, and washed Asian elephant dung to manufacture fibre boards is investigated. Bone glue contents in this research were set at 20 wt%, 25 wt% and 30 wt% based on dry weight particles. Using a pressure of 4 MPa at room temperature, fibre boards measuring 200 × 350 × 10 mm were produced. The optimum properties were achieved at a bone glue content of 30 wt%. These boards achieved a maximum flexural strength of 15.4 MPa.
