Conclusion: Cruising Politics
摘要
Cruising politics orients us to loosen certain attachments to electoral organizing by refocusing attention upstream where paraparliamentary mobilization, prefiguration, and activist direct action are able to inaugurate the world we seek to create. Activists in the global north can draw important lessons and inspiration from cycles of contention in the global south, especially the Green Wave of reproductive justice activism in Latin America. In countries like Chile and Argentina, activists directly petitioned hostile state forces in public acts of dissent, digital knowledge production, and covert organizing, which led to decriminalization and constitutional referendums. Cruising politics attunes us to the power that exists between us, a power we can pick up on the streets through concerted action.
