This chapter presents the therapeutic results of the TCM-Klinik Bad Kötzting in 2023, comparing the situation before and after treatment for general cases and specific mental and somatic illnesses up to approximately 6 months after discharge. The results profile provides an assessment of the effect sizes for life satisfaction, sense of coherence, well-being, and the primary symptoms of functional somatic disorders, pain, depression, and mood that were achieved at discharge and follow-up. The first part of the outcome profile presents patients’ subjective assessments of changes in their health status before and after therapy, as well as their overall assessment of the success of the therapy. In addition, measurements of changes in psychological and physical risk factors and health-promoting factors are presented. Subsequently, the course results of the therapy for specific diseases are discussed. Finally, as part of the clinic’s complication screening programme, the results of monitoring liver enzyme levels before and after treatment of all patients are presented to enable an assessment of possible potential liver toxicity of TCM medicines. The effect sizes determined may provide additional support for future efficacy-oriented randomized controlled trials.
